The launch of the Victorian Coastal Monitoring Program was officially announced by the Minister for Energy, Environment and Climate Change, The Hon. Lily D’Ambrosio MP, and the Local member Paul Edbrooke MP.
Associate Professor David Kennedy and Dr Dan Ierodiaconou were there to launch the program, which will use the latest drone technology as well as local communities to monitor the impacts of storm surge and climate change driven sea level rise on the beaches of the Victorian Coast.
This is a collaboration between Deakin University, the Department of Water Land and Planning and The University of Melbourne to improve the knowledge of coastal processes through community engagement.
