In press is the latest research by David Kennedy, Dan Ierodiaconou and Alex Schimel on the use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle’s to monitor coastal storm events.
UAV’s were deployed before and after a storm event. Onshore erosion and offshore deposition of sand can be easily identified using the UAV. This technology is definitely a leap forward in understanding and tracking the movement of sediment along the coast.
